AssetStudio™ Server & Inventory Client
The AssetStudio™ Server and Inventory Client are the core products of the AssetStudio™ suite.
AssetStudio™ | Server
AssetStudio™ Server is the inventory management system. It consists of a Web Application and SQL database. Scheduled management and maintenance tasks are configured to run as Windows Services and all administration is carried out through the simple yet powerful web application.
AssetStudio™ Server has an extensible schema to allow organisations to capture additional asset information e.g. Warranty, Department and Purchase Information. Combined with the Static and Dynamic group functionality, powerful reporting is a simple task. The archiving facility provides organisations with the ability to remove decommissioned assets, yet retain the data for compliance purposes.
The data in many other Asset Management products can quickly become out of date as they tend to be used by a subset of the IT department. Unlike other products, AssetStudio™, can be used for systems management activities. The ability to configure management tools, Software Delivery and integration with third party remote control tools means AssetStudio™ can and will be used throughout the IT department, from Service Desk to Senior Management.

AssetStudio™ Server is compatible with Windows 2000 Server and above and the database with SQL 2000 and above. The web application is compatible with all major web browsers, including Internet Explorer, Firefox, Sahara and Opera.
AssetStudio™ | Inventory Client
The AssetStudio™ Inventory Client is the inventory software that collects hardware and software information from the host machine and uploads it, via HTTP or HTTPS to the AssetStudio™ Server at configurable intervals. The client can be deployed automatically, with AssetStudio™ System Discovery, login scripts or Group Policy.

* Requires WMI Core 1.5 for Windows NT 4.0. This is installed automatically on NT 4.0 systems by the client management service. AssetStudio™ Inventory Client is compatible with Windows Operating Systems (NT 4.0 and above).
