Arun District Council joins list of Loc Gov orgs choosing PowerStudio™
17 March 2010

Arun District Council joins the growing list of local government organisations choosing Certero’s PowerStudio™ to help them meet their carbon reduction targets and reduce their electricity consumption in relation to PCs usage.
Arun District Council has chosen Certero PowerStudio™ to help their continued commitment to reducing their carbon footprint. PowerStudio™ will help Arun District Council reduce their carbon footprint and electricity consumption by ensuring that PC’s are not using electricity when not needed. This is achieved by applying intelligent power management policies for the PCs from a centrally managed facility, thus ensuring that maximum efficiencies are being made. This cannot be guaranteed via the more traditional methods of trying to applying HR policies or using other more vanilla ‘one size fits all’ methods i.e Active Directory.
Arun is a local government district in West Sussex, England. The district is named for the River Arun. Its main towns are Littlehampton, Bognor Regis and Arundel. It was formed on 1 April 1974 from Littlehampton and Bognor Regis urban districts, the borough of Arundel, and parts of Worthing rural district and Chichester rural districts. In 2008 Arun won an Ashden Award for their work on energy efficiency.
John Lunt, managing director and co-founder of Certero, says, “We are pleased to be helping local government organisations in their attempts to meet quite challenging carbon reduction targets. With ROI in the region on months not years it is encouraging to know that there are real solutions available that also have a realistic payback. In the case of PowerStudio™ the payback is probably better than most projects regardless of being a green project so it obviously makes commercial sense as well as helping the environment which is pleasing.”
