Certero customers rank highly in UK CRC Energy Efficiency league table

The CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme published its Performance League Table which shows Certero customers Colchester University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Barts and The London NHS Trust as the top ranked NHS organisations.

The table shows that for organisations such as Colchester University Hospitals and Barts and The London NHS Trusts using next generation PC Power Management solution PowerStudio® is helping to reduce costs and lower CO2 emissions. The Enterprise software allows organisations to apply power saving policies which automatically shut pc's down when not in use, boasting a return on investment in 4-6 months.

With PowerStudio® Barts and The London NHS Trust are saving £10,000 per month and 206 tonnes of CO2 annually.

The scheme, which in 2010 introduced a mandatory emissions trading scheme for organisations with electricity bills of £500k +has named and shamed over 1300 UK organisations. Participants are required to monitor energy use and report on their equib=valent carbon dioxide emissions and then purchase allowances, sold by the Government, to cover the emissions each year.

The Performance League Table positions are based on a participants changes in energy use against a baseline and not their total emissions. As a result the Performance League Table should motivate organisations to improve their energy efficiency.
