Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust selects Certero to reduce IT power usage

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust has chosen Certero to provide its intelligent PowerStudio™ energy optimisation suite to drive down power costs and reduce its carbon footprint.

Certero’s intelligent PowerStudio™ software enables the Trust to identify daily, monthly and annual trends of computer power across the organisation, and helps set desktop policies in accordance with user activity. For example, a policy can be created to automatically switch off monitors and place PCs onto standby or hibernation when computers are idle, enabling energy savings of up to £48 and 642 kWh per PC per annum to be achieved.

Servicing Southwest London, Northeast Surrey and parts of Sussex and Hampshire, the Trust needed a centralised management application that is easy to administer, helps meet green targets and quickly provides a return on investment.

John Lunt, managing director and co-founder of Certero, says, “We’ve specifically designed PowerStudio™ to efficiently manage all desktop elements which demonstrably contribute to green computing targets. It’s great that we can help the Trust reduce its carbon footprint and prolong the life of computer equipment, as well as helping the organisation to potentially save thousands of pounds on energy bills.”
