South Kesteven District Council reduces their IT power usage

South Kesteven District Council has chosen Certero’s PowerStudio™ energy optimisation suite to drive down power costs and reduce its carbon footprint.
Certero’s intelligent PowerStudio™ software enables Local Governments to identify daily, monthly and annual trends of computer power across the organisation, and helps set desktop policies in accordance with user activity. For example, a policy can be created to automatically switch off monitors and place PCs onto standby or hibernation when computers are idle, enabling energy savings of up to £48 and 642 kWh per PC per annum to be achieved.
Servicing 130,000 residents in over 80 villages across four traditional market towns; Grantham, Bourne, Stamford and The Deeping, South Kesteven District Council covers 365 square miles of some of England’s finest countryside, needed a proven solution to help meet their green targets and also obtain a quick return on investment.
